Biden Administration Allocates Funding to Combat Bird Flu Outbreak
As bird flu continues to spread among people and animals in the US, the Biden administration has allocated $306 million to respond to the public health threat. This funding will be used for pandemic preparedness, monitoring those exposed to the virus, test manufacturing and distribution, and research on how to combat H5N1. However, it's unclear if the incoming Trump administration will continue such work. Experts say that monitoring wastewater, producing antiviral medication, and improving communication and data-sharing are key to curtailing the outbreak.
