Crisis Averted: Hostages to Be Released, Palestinians Allowed to Return to Gaza
After a tense standoff, a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas remains intact. Hostages, including Israeli civilian Arbel Yehoud and soldier Agam Berger, will be released by Hamas in exchange for allowing displaced Palestinians to return to northern Gaza. This agreement ends the first major crisis since the ceasefire began. However, tensions remain high as thousands of Palestinians head back to their homes, many of which have been destroyed in the conflict. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump's suggestion to resettle most of Gaza's population in Egypt and Jordan has been met with rejection from all parties involved.
