In a heartbreaking incident, a North Yorkshire policewoman, PC Rosie Prior, lost her life after being hit by a lorry while assisting at the site of another crash on the A19. Ryan Welford, a 41-year-old driver involved in the initial collision, also died at the scene. The lorry driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation. PC Prior's family, as well as Welford's, have paid tribute to their loved ones. The scene has since been cleared, and investigations are ongoing. Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the deceased, and to the entire North Yorkshire Police force during this challenging time.
